Welcome...

I am John Fair, and this is my site. The simplicity of this site is key to its goal of explaining a little bit about me, much like a resume. I use this site to keep track of where I have been and where I am going.

Currently I work for both Wells Fargo and ImageScience Inc in two different capacities. My role with ImageScience is fairly cut and dry. Basically I run the sales, management, customer service, and parts of the programming of the sites ImageScience creates and maintains. We rely on XHTML and CSS for 90% of what we create, and we cater to small businesses and individuals who could not otherwise have a site on the internet due to cost. Our mission statement would go something like, "We strive to provide the most affordable, attractive and complete web solution for personal or business use." You might have noticed we use few images to design our pages. We would rather the content does the talking. We even created a joke site called ThisIsText.com that highlighted the need for real content on sites. (You can view that site in the ISI galleries) Overall ImageScience has been a real success for Josh and I. We started the company as a central sales position for several sites we were producing at the time, and from it we have learned more than we had ever imagined.

As for the Wells Fargo position, that's more complicated. Simply put, I break things. More accurately I break things on purpose to ensure the issues do not make their way to the end user. My experience is as varied as this page can be long. I have done everything from leading test teams to creating business requirements to defending projects in front of sales executives. Mainly I excel at this position because I have a fantastic ability to multi-task. Since I originally took this position I have been on a minimum of 5 projects (and I believe the max was 13 at one time) and I average 7 at a time. What this means is keeping track of the testing requirements, system changes, project interactions (how one projects changes can/will affect another project either past or present), risk analysis (is this good for the business? will this leave us open to a negative side effect? etc), system requirements, gap analysis, basic project management (I am by no means a project manager, but with each project I gain valuable experience in the managing of projects), and many other duties.

Honestly that list is too long to break down in a format such as this. Mostly I just wanted to keep a record of my current jobs and responsibilities in case that information comes in handy to someone looking to learn more about me. I am a fast learner, and love a challenge. I always get the question, "If you had to list one negative thing about you what would it be?" For now I would say a narrow range of experience in the mortgage industry. I am eager to widen my horizons in project management and embrace larger challenges than I am currently facing.

If you would like more specific information about education, programming background, photography background, my experience with Wells Fargo and project management, etc please check out my resume link or send me an email here: There is always more to a person than they can list on a web site so please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments, concerns or qualms you might have.

Thank you,
John Fair
